Default Rancho Suspension

Would the Rancho Challenger III suspension kit on a 1970 Z28 qualify as a day 2 addition?
Thanks!

Probably not, even though its not a bad addition for your driver. "Day 2" mostly means what someone would have done to "hot rod" or personalize that Z28 in the early 70's. Its mostly drag racing influenced, even if many of the "Day 2" additions didn't actually help drag performance all that much. I know Dick Gulstrand probably had some offerings (esp for Vettes), but I don't recall much aftermarket presence for handling stuff until the Herb Adams VSE Fire-Am/Cheverra stuff with the mondo big sway bars in the late 70s/early 80s. Just my $.02

Thanks for the input. Just curious.
I do like the way it handles over my last 70Z28 I owned with the stock suspension. This kit has the front sway bar with heim joints, front springs, rear leafs, rear sway with heim joints and what appears to be the original Rancho shocks that came with the kit.

I wonder if the shocks have a date code on them? That might be a way to identify how old this kit is.
