This stunning 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 was with the second owner from 1970-2011 which is fully documented. It was professionally restored by well-respected Michael Mulvey and completed in 2020. It’s in higher show quality condition from top to bottom. The NCRS Shipping Data Report and a partial Broadcast Sheet are included. A signed letter of history and photos from the second owner are included. The original application of Transfer of Warranty Form, GM envelope and Protect-O-Plate are included. Other documentation includes State of Washington envelope for the title addressed to the second owner, copy of certificate of title and log of 23 oil changes from 1968-1972 are also included. The car retains its original factory sheet metal with exception of the GM OEM passenger front fender which was replaced by the second owner and the deck lid which was replaced during the restoration. It sports its original gorgeous color combination of Rallye Green w/ white stripes exterior and Ivory/Black interior. It’s powered by a rebuilt GM DZ 302 V8 with many internal high performance parts. The engine breathes through a complete concours Gardner exhaust system. The engine is coupled to the original rebuilt Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and rebuilt 12-Bolt POSI rear end with 3.73 gears. This car is a great example of a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with long term ownership history.

As the original VIN indicates this car was built in Los Angeles, CA as a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe with an 8 cylinder engine. It was the 4,991st Camaro built in 1969. As the original trim tag indicates and NCRS Shipping Data Report indicates this car was built on October 19th, 1968. The original delivery dealer was dealer code 447 in zone 19 which was Ron Tonkin Chevrolet Company located in Multnomah Portland, OR. As the original GM Application for Transfer of Warranty form indicates this vehicle was originally sold to the first owner on November 19th, 1968. It was purchased by the second owner Mr. Robert S. Blain on March 3rd, 1970 with approximately 14,100 miles from Bud Clary Chevrolet in Longview, WA. This information is documented on a letter signed by Robert S. Blain, copy certificate of title, original Bud Clary Chevrolet receipt, original GM Application for transfer of Warranty form and Protecto-O-Plate which is all included. As stated in the letter written by the second owner Robert S. Blain, he replaced the front passenger fender with a new OEM fender because it had a dent in mid-1970. Also, in 1976 he pulled out the original engine because it had coolant consumption problems. He purchased a brand new DZ 302 V8 long block from Bud Clary Chevrolet along with a factory chambered exhaust system which he installed. It wasn’t until the early 1980’s when he stopped using the car as a daily driver. After 41 years of ownership he decided to sell the car on September 24th, 2011. The car exchanged a few hands and was then purchased by Michael Mulvey on March 12th, 2017. Mike is from Denver, CO and owns a service facility. He’s known for doing a high quality restoration every three or four years. MS CLASSIC CARS owner Marc Schiliro and Bryan Frank have been friends with Mike Mulvey for many years. The car was the product of a complete rotisserie nut and bolt restoration. It was completed in 2020 and has less than 100 miles since completion. Mike sold the car to MS CLASSIC CARS in later 2020. MS CLASSIC CARS recently completed the service and detail process. This is the first time it’s been listed for sale since completion. Right here, right now!

The exterior of this car is absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word. The car retains all of its original factory sheet metal with exception of the passenger front fender and rear deck lid. The second owner replaced that in the mid 1970’s with a GM OEM front fender and the rear deck lid was replaced during the restoration. This car was built with a flat hood and no spoiler as many were. Many times during restorations people add a cowl induction hood and rear spoiler. There are many people who prefer the flat hood and no spoiler as it gives the body a different appearance. During the restoration everything was removed from the car and it was taken to a bare metal shell. Hundreds of hours were spent on the body making it super straight with excellent gap lines throughout. The car was painted in its sexy original color combination of Rallye Green with White stripes. The high end paint job is ocean deep and was recently detailed to a show quality shine. It does have a quarter size imperfection under the clear coat on the white stripe on the rear deck lid. It possibly could be wet sanded out but MS CLASSIC CARS didn’t feel it was necessary. There is no such thing as a perfect vehicle. During the restoration all of the glass was replaced new glass from Auto City Classic. The glass was stamped – Shaded Soft Ray LOF August 1968 to appear correct. All of the stainless window trim was removed and sent to a professional to be repaired and refinished. The stainless trim fits beautifully. Everything on the exterior was replaced or restored such as the wipers, drivers side mirror, antenna, front grille, T-3 headlights, front bumper, parking light bezels and lenses, door handles, lower moldings, rear quarter trim, fender trim, tail light bezels and lenses, rear bumper with guards and all emblems. The car sits on the correct style 15” Rallye wheels with new trim rings and center caps. The wheels are wrapped with new Goodyear Wide Tread GT E70-15 tires with white letters that were purchased by Camaro expert Larry Christensen. This is one of the nicest restored first generation Camaros ever offered from the MS CLASSIC CARS collection!

The interior of this car is also in absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word. It was finished in its original color combination of Ivory and Black which complements the exterior perfectly. During the restoration the entire cabin was covered in dyna mat for sound insulation which makes a difference when driving. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced such as the headliner, dome light, dash pad, gauge lenses, astro vents, simulated wood trim, dash hardware, Delco AM radio, steering column, steering wheel, door panels, seat upholstery, seat belts, Hurst chrome shifter, white shift knob, pedal pads and correct style rubber floor mats. The correct reproduction stickers were added to the door jams, etc. Everything in the interior is in working order such as the dome light, dash lights, headlights, turn signals, horn, Delco AM radio, heating system, etc. The windows roll up easily and everything operates smoothly. The trunk compartment was nicely restored throughout. It was finished in splattered paint and reproduction stickers were added to the backside of the deck lid. It houses the matching spare tire and jack assembly.

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. The back side of the hood, fire wall, inner fenders and radiator support were finished in the correct color of black. Everything in the engine area was restored or replaced such as the hood hinges, wiring, GM stamped hoses, correct style clamps, alternator, pulleys, etc. The car is powered by a DZ302 V8 that was completely rebuilt and runs excellent. Some of the high performance internal parts include forged pistons and rods, Crane lifters, Crane “Duntov” 30-30 camshaft and cast steel roller tip rockers. The engine is dressed with a correct winters intake, carburetor and chrome air cleaner. The smog-system is in working order. The electrical power is sourced from an actual Delco Energizer battery with correct battery terminals. The engine breathes through factory manifolds and a new complete concours Gardner chambered exhaust system that was almost $2,000 not including labor. The engine is coupled to the original Muncie 4-speed manual transmission that was completely rebuilt. The clutch was replaced and is easy to operate. The power is transferred to the original 12-bolt POSI rear end with Eaton springs and 3.73 gears.

The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. This undercarriage is so nice it should be displayed with lights and mirrors at car shows. It finished in the correct color of black and looks spectacular. Everything underneath was restored or replaced such as the steering system, suspension system and braking system. Some items worth noting are front disc brakes, correct style gray spiral shocks and nicely polished tank.

This car was restored to a high level of quality. It runs and drives beautiful. Although is car was restored to be judged the new owner could go through it for judging.

This is a great opportunity to purchase a fully documented 1969 Chevrolet Z28 that was with limited ownership history.
