Default FAST, FS / Pure stock race in Commerce Ga.

If anyone has read anything on the Y-1 board about a 12.0 sec. rollbar rule shutting down the FAST drags on Oct. 7-8-9 next weekend, THE RACE IS STILL ON, THE RULES ARE STILL THE SAME. I just got off the phone with Dave Dudek and rollbars will only be required for 11.50 or faster cars.
Thanks, Steve Hodges

Default Georgia guys: need driving advice!

Looks like I'm headed down to Commerce, GA, for the Year One event...hard to beat 3 days of racing!

Anyway, I'll be coming in on I-75 from Chattanooga, but what's the best way across to Commerce? I see some backroads, but I'm not really into *experimenting* on new travel routes with a 26' trailer behind me...

I would continue down 75 to 285 to 85 and get off at the 441 exit (Commerce exit). I would stay away from the backroads with that trailer. I know my profile does not say GA but I have lived in Atlanta, Augusta and Savannah in the last 15 years. I might come down Saturday morning, maybe I will get to meet you and see your car.

That's kinda what I was thinkin', and what I've been told...looks like a lot of road hopping if I go the backroads. If ya do come down, look me up: I'll be in the black Duramax/white trailer, oh, and a yellow Yenko...

I got to see that yellow Yenko go down the quarter mile. First time I've seen that since the first reunion. Great to see you again Rob. The weather sucked for yall though. I was hoping to see more racing. Now that you've seen my Camaro SS, hopefully it will get you working on your LS1 powered ride.

Saw LOTS of familiar faces while in Commerce! Saw Andy and his dad, as well as Andy's SS-weet '99...saw Rich P just for a second...talked to Helen and Nancy Gibb for a while, and even got a ride in their golf cart! Saw *I believe* Helen's '68 COPO Nova as well as the '02 Harrell car and lots of other cool rides in the Year One area...talked to Geoff Stunkard quite a bit, and he said he got some wicked shots of me & JJ squaring off, and I got to ride in his golf cart too!

I didn't set the world on fire, as I went a best of 12.42@112+...Andy said it right, the air was CRAP. JJ went 11.8@121+ in his recently Certified Stock pure stock L88 'Vette...all while granny shifting a wouned tranny!

Forgot to mention, American Muscle Car awarded me a plaque at their luncheon for "Top 10 Burnout of All Time" on the series so far. Typical me, I was late and missed the presentation and the video!
