Stumbled across a 69' ragtop Vette L89 car
I was at a buddy's shop yesterday when I noticed an aluminum headed 427 on an engine stand. Before I could ask about it, he started telling me a "barn find" story about the car. Two guys in their 20's inherit some money, along with a 69' 350/350 ragtop Vette, after their father passes away. The car was their dad's favorite ride, and they both wanted it. They decide to take some of the cash willed to them, and find another ragtop vette, so that they can each have one to drive. About 2 months ago, one of them is at a garage sale and sees a crapped out ragtop vette. He calls up the other brother, who then shows up and convinces the guy to let them look at the car. The car turns out to be a no-hit, no-rust, 30,000 mi. ex drag car with the original engine in it. The fenders were flared, and the engine had had an aftermarket set of pistons installed. At this point, the guys still did not realize what they had, until my buddy told them that they might want to check out the tank sticker. They did, and it was. They bought the thing for 18,000 dollars.
