Default Corvette tank stickers

I’m curious if Gm changed the way they called out the RPO codes on corvette tank stickers through out production. Specifically referring to 67 400hp cars. We’re looking at one that says L36 at the top for 390 then in the bottom calls out L68 at the bottom which reads “conv 390 to 400”. Then the other says L36 at the top for 390. Then at the bottom says L68 “triple 2 bbl carb” I would think it would be consistent or did it depend who was typing the order copies out?

Some input would be great!
Thanks

400 Hp is the tripower oval port heads, 435hp has the solid lifter rectangle port heads

Correct. I’m curious to the conflicting phrases used on different build sheets. “Conv to 400” vs “triple 2 bbl carb” the triple 2 bbl carb seems odd as I’ve seen “conv to 400” used more often.

----Were these tank stickers known originals? As far as I know, and I have seen a bunch of 67-69 tank stickers and all in my memory were the conv 390 to 400.......Bill S

The one that said conv 390 to 400 was a know original. The one that said triple 2 bbl is the one in question. I’ve never seen that before and seems like odd verbiage for Gm to use....
Thanks for the input

----Not that Google pictures is any authority but I just looked at every tank sticker I could and saw 7 400hp t-stickers. All seven were 390 to 400 style! Triple two bbl carb just ain't getting it. Ill go out on a limb and say never!!!......Bill

Default 67 Tank Sticker Verbiage

As far as the language goes, the triple 2 BBL Carb is correct. It was used on early 1967 L68 cars up until approx. Oct/Nov 1966, then changed to 390 to 400.
I just attended an Al Grenning class a few months ago and this subject with examples was brought up. I have both variations in my database.
As far as whether the tank sticker is original or not, that's a different story, however this language in itself does not effect it's authenticity.

Default Corvette tank stickers

I agree. FWIW, I remember the change in wording was around Vin # 2850 in late October of 1966.

The "TRIPLE 2 BBL CARB" wording is just fine and correct on early documents for the L68 option.
