Default 70 442 w30

I am seriously considering purchasing the above car. The car is an original paint car, original drive train with docs, automatic with AC. I went for a test drive yesterday and unfortunately the carb developed problems and we had to cut the test drive short. Since I have never owned one of these cars, and I like to drive my cars. I wanted to see if a few members could give me their thoughts on road manners, drivability in the heat of the Summer (do they overheat) any inherit problems with this car? The torque of the 455 was very impressive during the quick test drive.

Thanks for any commentary.

You will love it. One of the most impressive cars I have ever driven. It was the exact same optioned W30 , just dark Green black interior.
Left a stop sign, let it shift to second, floored it, it dropped back into first and got sideways in an instant.
Only issue this particular car had was the dash harness shorted and had to be replaced.
This was back in 1977.

Default Docs

I'd like to see the docs and I'll give you my opinion on them if you want.

Depends on how hard you drive. I had a '69 Hurst/Olds, and about 10 yrs ago, a 1 owner, low mile '70 w-30 with auto. Felt like driving my Grandma's '70 Cutlass supreme, with the power of a big block, and turbo 400. Sold both in no time. A 4sp, with manual steering is more my thing.

Steve I look forward to driving again and seeing what it will do. I was impressed with the way it drove on the Polyglas and how tight it was.

You will hate it unless you have deep pockets . That thing will eat rear tires at anything above idle . Had a '71 cutlass sx that was a 455 / auto that kept me in the poor house due to it's '' hunger '' .
