Default eng pad stamp

I looked at a 68 chevelle and was wondering if anybody can shed some light on the eng pad stamp.

I think this is correct.

IV = 1968 Chevrolet 396 325 TH
0901 = sept 1st

Is the 1st character a 1 or a T? Should be plant code.

Hello Steve,

I believe that the use of close letters were sometime seen used to mark engine codes. E.g. I for 1. I can see using a one for a T.
