Default Thrush Tin Can muffler info?

Did they ever come in 2.5 inch inlet/outlet? I'd love to find a pair, but they rarely come up for sale, and never in that size. They'd be for the Camaro. I don't want to go bigger on the exhaust, and I'm definitely not reducing it. I figure this can also serve as a general discussion thread for these. Also, I'm aware of the Cherry Bomb Hot Rod mufflers. They don't come in 2.5 unfortunately.

Interesting. I see one with a 2 1/2 inlet but a 2 1/4 inch outlet, and that's as big as they got . That's a bit of a bummer. Thanks.

I wonder if they made them in bigger sizes later on? I don't know when they quit producing them but I'd imagine they had to have made them larger eventually, as exhaust systems got bigger.

OR WAIT. Am I reading it wrong? I didn't take OD vs ID into account. Looks like I'm measuring tail pipes tomorrow. I know I'm wrong about *something* here.

Hell, just ignore my rambling lol

Alright, measured the pipes on the car. 2.25" ID, 2.5" OD

I bought a set of 2 1/2 in 2 1/2 out in 1985 from a local shop , he had them in stock I used them till late 86 and had to replace them after going through a state police road block and receiving a ticket for being too loud 😳. We had several cars in town with them the best sounding one was a 340 duster with w2 heads and .590 solid lifter cam it sounded like it was gonna blow the mufflers off😀

Btw, don't waste your money on current day Hush Thrush mufflers. They are now made by Dyno Max, sound totally different from the original Hush Thrush and are also restrictive !
