Floor and firewall work will come next. Looks like the orange door was set up for a remote mirror. That hole will need to be welded up.

I thought all driver side doors have the hole for a remote mirror cable ?

Looks like some screw holes on the passenger door for a RH mirror. But thats the yellow door? So the orange one is ok

Thanks guys.

I didn't know that hole was there on all doors or that it would be covered by a standard mirror. Just knew the door was from another car so thought it was an option. Learned something new today. Cheers

Rob, one of the former owners or perhaps a dealer may have added the right side mirror as it was on when this picture was taken back in the '80s. Not sure when it was installed but I will leave it there as I like having one on the right.

There is a metal tab also, inside the door near the hinge. It holds the remote cable away from the window.

Car sure looks good in the 80's pic Graeme. It's a shame it went to hell that quick. Your doing a great job. I enjoy this thread!!

Thank you. Robin told me that picture was right after he got it. I believe that was 1981

Over the next 15 years, it saw some outdoor storage and that didn't do it any favors.

Ron seam sealed all the joints, sanded the firewall and the door and trunk jambs today, then he primed/sealed the inside floors. I would imagine he'll prime the firewall tomorrow and put it on the rotisserie before getting after the bottom side. I'm headed out to the upholsterer's shop tomorrow and will stop in to see the car on the way back.
