Default So Fine 409

This showed up next door to my office today:

Black on Black, original paint, 409-425 hp drivetrain. Nice to see an original survivor musclecar.

Paul

I wish. The car came in for some freshening up is it was sold. I have seen it a couple of times before, owned by a local collector here in the Houston area, even has the original bill of sale and other paperwork.

Something is not original about the fender flags and "409" numbers as on the '63 Impala the "409" is supposed to be above the crossed flags emblem on the fender, not below it as was done in '62.

The shop down the street from my office does custom rods and restorations, and they get original muscle cars from time to time. The shop right next door builds AC Cobra kit cars, 2500 lb, 427 Windsor strokers, 525 hp and 5 speed Tremec trannys. They fire them up and rattle the walls. Should be fun to drive. They have built several with the Coyote 5.0 engine as well.
