Looks like kind of a plain jane 70 SS396, brought a lot of money. $40-50k estimate, brings almost quarter of a mil, $242k?
Cool car, but what drove this bidding this high, anyone have a clue? https://www.mecum.com/lots/ES0922-53...t-chevelle-ss/

I was just looking at the Elmer's auction results yesterday, and I was WTF?
A person with the means obviously wanted THAT CAR. The $30-$50K for some of the pedal cars was crazy, IMHO. |

I just saw the green Superbird pedal car at the Speedway museum in Lincoln Nebraska. It had sold for over 50K. Speedway Museum is a must see and they are adding another building of I think about 100K square ft.

That would be nice to believe, but in actuality only takes one person and doesn't matter if it has a reserve or not. It would be interesting to know the back story on the SS 396 Chevelle?

that is not the only car that brought insane $$$, there was a cobbled up 58 with a big block in it that brought nearly 100k, and a 69 charger for 104k, 66 gto 84k, old wooden snap on tool box 35k, and ya, the 4 wing car pedal cars close to 175k for them
