Yes, it is a common problem when people restoring these cars install the new springs that are listed in whatever resto catalog they refer to. The vast majority of these supply houses generically think that if a set of springs fits a Camaro then they are the correct spring for a Trans Am. Not! As a result you get the 4x4 look of the car sitting three inches over the tires. So, Firebird fans tend to call them "AWD" or "4X4" Trans Ams.
