"What I do have in my possession, is a written affidavit, from the original owner stating that it IS the engine that came with it"

Does this pull any weight with the numbers crowd as far as value?

I would say it's subjective.
Once decked,it's better then no affidavit at all,but not as good as not having to need it in the first place.

After reading the ad, even if I was interested, I would pass on it.

Car has been around looooong time. IMHO I do not believe it is the REAL block. I would rather say not verifiable if original or not. But that is just me. Sean
