1969 Camaro Headlight Bucket Finish
Hey everyone,
Hoping someone can help confirm the correct finish on the inner headlight bucket for a 1969 Camaro. One side was in black paint and the other side in zinc-cad finish. Which is correct if restoring? Car has never been wrecked but can’t confirm one of the buckets hasn’t been replaced at some point in its life... Thanks in advance... |

30% gloss on frame or housing. Actual bucket that headlight sets up against is gloss black. Incidentally, the left bucket (gloss part) on a regular grille is the same as the rt on an RS and vice-versa

I picked up a pair of headlight buckets at a swap meet once, perportedly for 69 Camaro, and they were galvanized. Any chance different suppliers provided black vs galvanized? If not, any clue what they were really for?

I noticed on a hand full of '67 Camaro's that I worked on, they had a zinc, cad, or galvanized finish on the buckets but always painted black on a '69.
