Default Did someone decide we can't read about Detroit?

Looks like the Detroit thread is gone? It had some very good points in it, with some intelligent responses. If we can't discuss it here, why not? It wasn't a political thread was it?

Rob,

Just a reminder, follow the rules NO POLITICAL POSTS:

Some of you might like this and some might not. There is getting to be too much political commenting and it is detracting from what this web site is about. We all have different political views and that is every Americans right but this web site is about cars and a nice place to get away from the world of politics. Starting now, any political posts will be deleted. Please understand that even though what you post might be approved by others in your thread, there are many other readers that are distancing themselves from the threads and site because of the political banter. One goal of this site is to bring us lovers of Supercars together, not get us into political arguments.

Glad to see the thread got tossed, personally.

I'm sure some (many) may (will) disagree.

There's the O.T. forums over on the Chevelle & Camaro sites where political banter is welcomed, and there's always YB for the thicker-skinned folks who really want to mix things up.

This is the sole "BS-free" forum I peruse anymore. I'd really hate to see this place stoop to those levels.

Well, I must have missed whatever it was that made the thread disappear. The things that I read were well written, well thought out, not some screaming lunatics hollering at each other. Pretty much like a discussion that we would have here in my shop. Lounge stuff.

Amen. I'll never walk away from a political debate, but on the other hand, it's kind of nice being able to come here and not deal with it period.
