Default 1969 L88 Warranty Exchange Shortblock

I picked up a 3963512 4 bolt standard bore block with the original L88 pistons still in it and has a 6223 steel crankshaft not a 7115. The block has a casting date of L-3-9 stamped CE0XXXXX and assembly date of February of 1970. Can this be correct with that crankshaft and being a L88 warranty counter exchange? I have been told the guts were never out of the motor since installed from Tonawanda.

6223 were used as l88 cranks due to the fact gm ran out of them. Not aware of the stock being gone by late 69 however .They are actually stamped l88 on one of t h e throws when the 6223 is used in that application.I've seen that twice in motors never taken apart .I have had an nos 6223 w l88 stamped on it as a ell. I have seen later l88s short and long blocks later dated e than yours with a 7115 as well but I would say it's right as you have it.
