I have a March built 72 with these "exploding" buckles as well. Several years ago (maybe 10 years?) I sent mine to Ssnake Oyl Products and they rebuilt them. They are not perfect but really pretty close and function perfectly and have held up well. I wanted to be able to keep my originals if possible and this allowed me to do that.

Chuck ordered three kits from the Parts Place and successfully rebuilt the broken buckle. I guess he is keeping the other kits as extras.
