The impression I get is it is still in the hands of the family friend it was given/sold to after the owner died. But not sure.

I am surprised to see they used 201 as the number for the 1969 Yenko Camaro production total.

The 201 number is a 40 year old mistake.

In the early 1980ís Vince E. acquired the original Yenko records. He at first counted 201 vins that he thought were 1969 Yenko Camaros but a short time later he changed his number to 198. The 198 number has some questions on it due to some discrepancies, but the 198 number has been used since the 1980ís.

The 201 number has no historical basis other then being an often repeated mistake.

So Vince still holds all the sheets? Anyway to get a hold of Vince E. still? I've heard he wont actually provide you a copy of anything he has but basically throws a certificate together saying it's listed on what he has and it isn't cheap.

Not so fast there. The Yenko records consist of small, hand-written VINs scrawled on old accounting ledgers. Hard to read and often mis-interpreted. Back in the day there were 3 separate '69 Yenko Camaro lists that did not match. One of the cars on all three lists is a cut up drag car with a body tag that does not fit with other known Yenkos in the time frame.

A few people have been sitting on '69 Yenko Camaro and ZL1 paperwork for decades. They demand exorbitant prices for scraps of information. As long as their dog-in-the-manger act continues, questions will remain unanswered.
