This is the 2nd prototype for the 69 Trans Am. Notice all the emblems that didn't make it into production: RAM AIR on the hood, FIREBIRD on the front fenders and 400 on the trunk, along with TRANS AM in red on the spoiler.

More like the 1976 Aerovette - which came a year after the Opel so it was probably the basis for this Corvette concept.

Don't get me wrong; Studebaker had some great low cost innovations over the years; like a lock up torque converter in my 53. GM didn't use a lock up TQ until the 80s. But by 1965 the grave was already being dug for the Studebaker autos.
