The SCW is no longer a sponsor. Hopefully just temporary.

Now this can not be a GOOD sign. If there is No SCW what cool cars are we going to look at? The Reunion will be ALOT thinner. Or maybe the west coast can bring more of the pro touring kind of cars to the show that would be AWESOME. Well no more Vette Fest and NO reunions to go to guess alot of east coast guys and gals will get to save alot of fuel not having to go the the Midwest. This board is going DOWN HILL in a HURRY. But like they say ONE door close's and another door OPENS.

Wasn't meant to be Funny. Seems thats where this show has been heading. Just calling it as i see it, different strokes for different folks. I recall years ago that this show was to be all about Supercars of the Past and maybe some more present. Certainly not Pro touring cars and the Unusual circus cars. Didn't think i had to travel half way cross the country to see what i can go to the local book stand and thumb through the Latest HOT ROD mag and find. Just calling it as i see it. This is just MY OPINION and iam sure there are alot of fine people on this board that want to see this stuff and who am i to Judge.

I agree with Brian, when you go to a venue like the SC Reunion I love to look at just exactly that, "Super Cars." Because they are so rare like the Yenkos, Motions etc... and the old drag cars with race history like the Red Alert, Old Gibb/Harrell race car like Howie's and many others. These are just too cool!! Even more fun watching these cars drag race!!

Where else can you see all of these cars together?? You certainly can't go up to your local cruise nite and see all of these great cars!!

I agree with Tom, hopefully the SCW will be back as a sponsor soon!! Great guys and great restos!!

Rich

Brian..I have brought a Pro-Touring car to the Reunion maybe twice ? When I did it was because the car was already in the midwest. I have also brought ZL1,the 67 Pace car, The SuperSnake, a Trans Am convert but you get bugged because I bring a car type you don't like. I have worked my ass off trying to moderate guys like you and figured bringing one of my non Supercars once in awhile wouldn't bother anyone and would be OK. Consider it a job perk if you want. You have seen how many other Pro-Touring cars at the Reunion ? I also ran a rental car down the strip at the reunion so I guess that must have really bugged you also. For those of you reading this that haven't actually been to the reunion, that is about the extent of the Pro-Touring car showings.

Although there may or may not be a Vette Fest, there will indeed be a show that not only welcomes, but will feature Supercars and the very best Muscle Cars...from not only Chevy but other manufacturers as well.

As Kwhizz stated, "the world does not revolve around SCW" (or Vette Fest or SCR, or me or anyone else). Let's focus on what brought us all together in the first place and that is not just the cars, but the people who share the passion for various things that happen to have four wheels, whether Super Cars, Muscle Cars, Pro Touring cars or ??

One door closed, and another one indeed swung open.

My apology for swinging slightly off topic.

More info to follow soon.

As per the SCR, and I guess this site as a whole, yes, we have branched out to include lots of other makes, models, and yes, pro-touring, but IMO, this has helped in the tremendous growth the club has enjoyed. I love the Supercars as much as anyone, obvious by my dedication to the club and SCR for the past 12 years, but as with many other members, I enjoy what is considered non Supercars, AKA, “Red Alert”. I have done my best to balance the two, and in my humble opinion, have done a decent job.

I hope everyone will sit back and not say something they will regret later, instead let the parties involved sort though, and hopefully work things out, where we can all enjoy our hobby as one.
