Default 1969 Camaro Chrome Shifter Balls

I have 4 rechromed assembly line correct 4 oz. shifter balls correct for muncie round bar handle's with 3/8" threads. It now costs me $125 ea to have these rechromed + shipping & ins both ways, so I have close to $150 ea. in restoring these.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but yes or no did these have a locknut? Good chroming sure isn't cheap for sure.

I thought the lock nut was only for non-console cars to get the shift pattern on the ball adjusted straight. Please let me know if I am incorrect.
