Re: 2nd Gen Trans Am$ at Barrett Jackson
No , wouldn't want to cut anything up , just bolt on stuff . Already did it to our 87 442 & was too easy with bolt on stuff .
Just would be nice to have more than 100hp ! Plus the " heat soak " issues are getting old ! |

Re: 2nd Gen Trans Am$ at Barrett Jackson
The three R code Mustangs (93, 96, 00) are much more rarer than a pedestrian IROC Z. Besides, factory racecar offerings are leading the way in the marketplace. Sitting on a set of these for 5 years would be money well spent right now.

Re: 2nd Gen Trans Am$ at Barrett Jackson
Naw, Jim's right hand man did all the work..would have loved to though! Still can't imagine the brothers renting that car out for a shoot to get thrashed- glad the producer didn't want the Pilot LS6.

Re: 2nd Gen Trans Am$ at Barrett Jackson
LS swap in the 442? Did I read that correctly? How about some pics in the Oldsmobile section. Sounds cool. Scot.

Gotta be a record. Hope my '93 5.0L black LX 5-speed gets some market love soon </div></div> If you were closer I'd come give it some love right now.

Re: 2nd Gen Trans Am$ at Barrett Jackson
I love the '91-'92 Z/28s; only bad thing is no 5.7 sticks---gotta be a 5.0. Little if any hp difference between the two, but I kinda think everyone would still prefer the 5.7. There is a '91 or '92 1LE floating around with 25 miles on it. I got "sold out" about five years ago at $22,000.00. Funny thing is the heater core rotted from sitting. I had a 1LE for a short time; bought it off eBay and sold it at Carlisle within a month or two. Really a good car for the money. I'd still like to find a nice '91-'92 Z/28......key word being "nice". Lotsa weed and cheap beer when most of the original owners had them....few are what I would call nice.

The late 5.0's with the stick and big cam are generally just as fast as the 350 cars. Maybe faster with a good driver. Both can run close to 14 flat stock. If I could find a 92 25th Anniversary edition Z28 in black with red stripes with either drivetrain in good shape, I'd snap it up.

Its also a 4 or 5 spd. I thought he was nutts. Maybe he is not. |
