Question AOR 8" Timing Cover Identification ?

I am Currently correcting parts on a clients 1970 LS6 454.
For the AOR 8" Timing Cover I have seen only Dated or Undated smooth covers with the angled cut AOR Timing Tab.

This current one stumps me as it is on a LS6 motor but it has these natural dented in dimples every few inches along the top but the timing tab is the same as the above mentioned.

Any Idea if this is correct being another style they used or just from another application?
Let Me know your Thoughts.
