Default Seat repair

The seat vinyl is splitting on the back of the drivers seat in a car with pretty much an all original interior. Anyone have any bright ideas for repairing this without changing the seat back cover? I would even go for something that just prevents this from getting worse. Thanks

I have had good luck with the local upholstery shops here - they can be pretty creative and inexpensive when it comes those types of repairs.

Maybe remove the cover and glue something to the back side?

Tom,

Thank you for the recommendation. I sent you photos if you could forward them to the shop that would be great. The shops close to me only want to pull off the covers and replace them.

Post seat repair..

Bill...

got the photos...they were a little dark, but after download and 'massaging' they show up pretty well. I may be able to stop at my guy tomorrow and show him your pics and see what he says.

Stay tuned...

Tom, Thanks again with your help with this. I am guessing the answer here will also help others. I can't be the only one that would prefer to save original upholstery if possible.
