are the SS 350 and Z/28 coil bracket different?

I believe brackets are the same if no ducted hood.
With ducted hood, the brackets would still be the same, but diff from the standard hood. I am sure I will get corrected if I am wrong.

My Camaro has the 298 B-R coil, but didn’t have a bracket with it, so can’t confirm bracket details.

the 298 coil bracket lays back a little further to get the coil passed the air cleaner base.

For 1969, 298 is correct for a Z/28 with flat hood.
270 is correct for Z/28 with ducted hood (or any other small block ducted hood car). Am I backward on that? Pretty darn sure the only difference is the bracket. I always thought the 298 had the standard bracket (more upright), and the 270 had the lower profile bracket (angled back farther) to clear the ducted hood air cleaner. If you don't have the correct bracket for a ducted hood car, it is easy enough to simply bolt on the one you have, and use an old coil to bend it back towards the firewall so it clears. Not perfect, but works in a pinch.

I believe the number on the coil tells the assembler what coil bracket to use. 293 pretty standard or 298 for a flat hood Z. If I remember correctly, the 298 bracket does not sit flush on its mounting holes. Maybe Steve S. or Dave Valentin can chime in here.
