He's right in the ball park on the price. Usual window sticker price was around 4600.00

Ken, I would not trust Mr. Ed's memory. I have found some stuff he told me to be wrong, then found other neat stuff that he all together forgot about. The "evidence" that you mentioned about Englers Deuce being actually red/black stripes, was that the guy I told you about a few years ago that saw the photo of my Deuce as the screen saver on my computer? This was when I worked at Mr. Ed's dealership. He then told me about one "he had just like it" that he bought new at Fencl Tufo from Mr. Ed. I remember believing him when he told me the story. At that time he said it was red/black stripes.

How far did this owner live from Portsmouth, OH? There was a dealer there that sold a handful of Deuces. There were also some sYc network dealers in WV.

If you're speaking of the Sunflower Yellow "Hooper" Deuce, it's last know whereabouts was a wooded backyard in Uniontown. It did have it's original drivetrain, but there wasn't much left at all of the body shell/suspension components. It was on ebay at least once...and was discussed here at length. Maybe someone can find the old thread and link it here.

Was the Deuce you were thinking of definitely bright Sunflower Yellow, or could it have been a Gobi Beige car that is a sort of pale margarine yellow?

It actually sold on ebay that time if I remember correctly, until the guy who bought it set someone down to eyeball it and nixed the deal. Perhaps the straw hanging outta the bottom that he bedded his dog house with did it.
He will tell you, ask Marlin, that he has guns. Not a real friendly dude. Last I heard it had been moved outta sight somewhere. He ain't gonna make a good Walmart greeter.

It's a long story, been there, saw it, read the note on the window, it wasn't a pretty sight - I think it would have torn in half if someone tried to drag it too far. It's gone from the side yard now, not sure where it went. When I saw it, there was no drivetrain, but the original block and rear was claimed to be stashed somewhere. It had a rough life.
