Believe he said evapo rust soaked rags draped on the body panels is what he used to remove the rust. It was an amazing transformation.

I have used the evaporust with very good results. Gotta keep the towel soggy with the stuff, though. because if it is a light colored car, it will stain the finish if you let it dry on the surface. Make sure you rinse it with water after several hours to get the residue off. If necessary you can then repeat the process. This will reduce the likelihood of staining the paint yellow.
We had a truck at work that was parked under a dripping water pipe and it covered the window glass as well as the paint down the sides, in rust. The evaporust stuff removed it all. Of course they promply parked it back in the same spot right after I spent a day cleaning it... [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif[/img] |

My idea to keep things moist is to get one of those thin foam like you put on top of a mattress. Cut to size. On the flat side using a sprayer, like you buy for weeds, wet the foam then apply to the surface. Guess I have thought this out?

Go ahead and burn me at the stake. I scrubbed the car wuth Bon Ami and wash water. It worked well then I sprayed the car with detailer
