Correct radiator for 67 396 Camaro
Well, it is time to pull out the 67, and fix a few of the incorrect things that I
have been putting off all these years. (been going withthe thought, that if it aint broke....). i have collected the correct water pump, 4 blade fan and spacer. And finally found the correctly dated 880 manifold. The big item that I still need is a correct Harrison radiator. Any Idea where i can find one? I hear that Heartbeat has a very correct reproduction - is this true? Or, should I continue to wait to find an original one? which is not getting any easier. I have some harrison tanks, but they are not Camaro ones, can anyone re-configure them? It says in the CRG reports, that 67 used a 3 core 23" for the 1967 L-35 Auto - 396-325 "67-68 BB auto = Tank code OM" A little worried, is this going to be less productive then the 4 core I am now using? Should I just leave it alone? - I am not running hot after many years of trial and error, here in south Florida. Will changing from a 4 core radiator w/ 5 blade clutch ,to the correct 3 core radiator, and 4 blade fan- going to give me problems? Any opinions? ??? |

Get the correct one and try it. Not real hard to change and if the original doesn't work for you, you can always put the 4 core back in. I bet the original with a good re-core will be fine. At least it will be correct.
