Default Help identifying shifter

Hello,

I am trying to confirm if the shifter that came out of 1969 Camaro is original.

It is stamped with U. S. PATENTS 3216274 3306126 OTHERS PENDING (picture included).

Based on online research it looks like an original shifter would say Hurst Competition Plus.

The prior owner cut out the side of the transmission tunnel to make it work so something is off.

Any help figuring out what this goes with would be appreciated.

Not a factory shifter. This has a bolt in shifter handle and the factory has a push in style handle.
