Default 1969 z/28 rs

So in 1987 I bought this car and few Years back I sent out for NCRS and found out this car was sold at Kardon Chevy in New Jersey? strange because there is zero rust on it except from vinyl top window channels so it must of went south for the winter now about 20-25 years ago we started looking at the body for paint we found alot of rust in front and rear window this all needed repairing and also rear tail panel had thick 1/4" of filler in places so we found a good used original at a swap meet and all these year I kept the original panel thinking it may look good as garage art one day. I was able to find a member that had a couple dealer emblems that I bought and not wanting to drill the tail panel one emblem had studs and one was later that would of been taped on so one day I looked at original tail panel and it had emblem holes that had filler coming through so I opened those holes back up and what do you know?
my question is drill the holes or go with taped emblem?
