I agree I have never had a problem with trust from anyone on the site before and this clown knew the parts so I admit I did think well I could consider a certain amount of trust for that reason. But expensive lesson learned and it will not be repeated. Unfortunately that is the world we live in and we have to be mistrusting in everyone when only a small percentage of people deserve the scrutiny.

Maybe they disconnected the phone because they moved out of the house? I hope it’s just a misunderstanding and has a happy ending. Do you have the address you sent the money order to or was it a money gram type of payment?

Sorry to hear about this Mick. Another tool to use is FaceTime or any of the video meeting apps that are everywhere now. If you can FaceTime them on your phone and see in real time that they have the part you need, it makes it a lot harder to pull a scam (especially one using other people’s pictures and the like). Hope it turns out for you.
