Blackjack "aluminum blasted" headers
I know this is not technically a day 2 item, but I dug these out of the garage. They were bought in the 80's or early 90's. There is not a lot of info about them, I know they were the "hot item" when they came out. They are Blackjack AK5000 series with blasted aluminum sprayed coating Pt #5801 for SBC
I know old does not always mean desirable but what are these worth? Should I save them for a later build? Thanks Scott

I'd find an engine to hang them from on an engine stand in your man cave!

I had a set of those back in the early '80s.

Kinda Cool ! 1st thing I ever ordered from Summit , out of a small add in Hot Rod magazine , mid 80's ? didn't even have a credit card, had to send them a money order in the mail. think they were like $99 ?

I remember going to Summit when it was on the other side of the freeway(70's), and they had one guy working the counter. Paul did a nice job with his co. Just ordered a bunch of stuff, showed up next day double boxed. The guy on the phone was knowledgeable too.

"Alumacoat" headers... Blackjack was the only company to sell them if I recall correctly. I don't know how early they made these but I know they were still considered "cool" in the early 90's.... right before the "Jet Hot" coating on everything started. Pretty sure that's about the same time these disappeared. Neat pieces to find in NOS condition!

What ever happened to "Blackjack"? Seems like they were one of the more popular headers back in the 1980s, mostly due to the low price of the non-aluminum-blasted plain steel versions. Around $99 / pair from Summit IIRC. I had a small block set on a '70 Nova. fit well and lasted for years and years on a daily-driven car.

My brother put a set on his new 1981 Chevy pickup.
The truck got the full day two parts package headers, cam, intake. valve covers, air cleaner. He even blueprinted the bearing clearances. They held up quite well and looked good.

Bernhard, Here are pics if the header bolts in the kit. I saw you were asking in another post but got no reply. These were unopened, just has a cut in the plastic so I could sneak them out.

I had a pair on my '69 High school Camaro circa 1979-1980 from Jim's World of Speed.
