Grant 500 wheel

Any thoughts on getting a grant 500 wheel rechromed? Wood is excellent, chrome is poor. Any thoughts on how to "re-rivet" wood back to steering wheel after rechroming? Looking to use wheel on a Motion Modified Corvette
