Default USPS During C-19

Is it just my experience, or have others been seeing weird delivery times and routing lately with USPS?
Example: small item posted to me from the North-East; tracking showed it departed NY International Distribution Center April 30. Trail went dead, but just got email updates to say departed Chicago June 5th, then arrived in DFW June 7th. Will be interested to follow this item as it progresses closer still!
I had figured it was lost after leaving NY, so really happy it showed up again, but where was it for 5 weeks?? I’ve had a ton of stuff shipped here over the years, and >90% of the time it’s here inside a fortnight, always been impressed with USPS.
Is this due to reduction in services from C-19 impact? Not complaining btw, just curious.

Yes, I ship a lot of items. Many have been going as normal but others will fall off grid for a week then get back on track. It is very strange.

All my mail is USPS here to Germany. If it gets shipped from West coast and shipper uses First class mail, then it gets on a truck and makes it way across the US to the New Jersey distro hub. Then it sits there until a bin is full of First class mail destined for US Military overseas, then it gets sent to the Frankfurt Military hub. I ordered a Nova Trunk Emblem from a partsvoice.com vendor, he shipped it April 18 from Around N. Hollywood, I picked it up June 3.
But yes, it has been a little weird since April.

This was a gear box going back to the States...not bad.

I buy and ship items, yes...as Jason has said some are really fast and some take weeks or

months to show up? I have gone with Fed Ex and they are right on time as delivery date is

stated.

I had a box sit at the local terminal 4 days. Tracking would say on truck for delivery and never show up. At the end of the day it would say delivery exception. One day it never even got on the truck.

Any mail or parcels I am getting from the 49 state area is fairly normally but God help you if you want something from Canada. I package took almost 2 months to get here. Wire transfers from Canada are also horribly slow. Every time I have checked with the shippers it has been blamed on Covid19 so I guess just like the virus, it needs to run its course.

Wait, USPS not having a set delivery time or the package showing up when expected?

BWAAaHahahahahaHAHAHAHAaaahaha.....:ha ha:

:haha

Hahahahahahaha.....

Hahahahaha!!!

Oh, that’s great. Man I needed that this morning. Hahaha...oh that’s classic!

But in all seriousness, been some weird stuff going down. My folks relocated from Florida and put in the change of address. Mail was forwarded from Florida to Texas, then transferred back to the Florida address with the label saying “address in Florida not valid”

Soooo...Bwahahahahaha!!!

Oh man, I’m gonna laugh at this all day!

Cheers
Dave

Similar issues here. Ordered something from Chicago, less than 300 miles away. 5 days from label created to picked up, then tracked to NY, then disappeared for 6 days until it arrived.
I used to ship UPS, but a friend got me started on FedEx Ground, their service has me spoiled!

Similar issue here....bought a small item off e-bay, tracking showed it lost in space for about 8 days after it made it to Chicago distribution then all of a sudden back in the system and delivered next day.
