Good eye Bill but it appears to be correct for a bucket seat car NON console as there were three different shifter handles offered. The bench seat handle has a little bit larger curve to it and the angle at the top would be tighter. This handle appears to be correct to me.

Excusing the comical photo (Annie was just having fun one day) but you can see the same handle. This was the original handle to the car. It looks like she has it in neutral unlike the subject car which is likely in reverse but you can see they are the same.

The second photo is of a 70 bench seat Muncie handle.
