Default 69 BBC 396, 427 COPO Chevelle Camaro Assembly Line Engine Mount Hardware

The fundamental philosophy of assembly lines of today is no different than assembly lines from back in the day. One key component is the feeder supply to the assembly lines to ensure supply and demand is maintained. To ensure uninterrupted supply, Manufacturers will have more than one supplier for various components that go into the final assembly.

Cars built at the Van Nuys assembly plant may have the same or similar hardware in appearance to the hardware used at the Norwood Assembly plant to ensure fit, form and function is maintained. A batch of cars being assembled at one facility may have different hardware substituted to the assembly line to ensure a continuous supply is maintained in order to achieve set production rates.

My research at this point has identified three suppliers were used for the motor mount bolts used with 3920627; 3937930 engine mounts on 69 BBC 396, 427 COPO Chevelles, Camaros that were assembly line correct or offered over the counter through the GM Hi-Performance catalogue.

The two bolts were different in length to accommodate the safety mounting plate and were 7/16”-14.

The manufacturers’ insignia on the head of the bolts were:

RBW
L5
RSC

Does anyone have any additional pictures of this hardware and insight that can be shared?
