I saw the car and took pictures of it along with the TT and paperwork. Of course they are too big and won't download. The VIN is 124379N659193 and the body number is NOR357112. As noted the trim tag is a reproduction. Ed's paperwork is dated 6/10/04. There were no GM of Canada docs on display. The selling dealer is Park Lane Motors in Sarnia ON. This car has been discussed here before.

Holy cow, I had no idea this post would resurrect a 17 year old discussion. They were asking $129,900 for the car.

That car has got so much history around here, you best run for the hills.

If you had the misfortune and bought it, which one did you get, the bogus car with the original tag or the real shell with the bogus tag. Good luck.....lol.

There are some folks on this site that know all to well about that car.....enough said.

I’m sure there’s a number of legit cars out of Canada, but over the past couple of years I’ve seen a lot of fakes. There are a number of cars that are completely made up around the GM of Canada docs. Canadian cars freak me out anymore.

Lots of fake cars out of the US too, At least with Canadian docs you con prove its a “Real” car like a Z or COPO or 375 hp.
Unfortunately greed gets the better part of people when it comes to money, it’s not about the cars any more but profit .

so i am going to guess that maybe whoever ended up owning the real copo body found out it was a real copo thru vintage services. If that body has the original unmessed with hidden vin#'s. And he locates the fake body. One phone call would make a very bad day for the guy with the fake body, and a real happy owner of a real copo. The police or FBI impound both cars and do an investigation. If your a gambler, roll the dice......
