Default 1970 Camaro Z/28 Ebay Ad - CAUTION

I know this may not belong in this discussion area but we all need to be aware if this activity.

Just a heads up on this ad on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Chevrolet-Camaro-Z28/274115364714?hash=item3fd28c876a:g:bxkAAOSwczxdxcg 6

For actual pics, please read this info. below and see the thread in our "Ebay and Other Cars For Sale" section titled Very Clean '70 Z/28 and you might be surprised.
https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=158273

ALERT

There is something terribly wrong with this ad that is currently on Ebay.

Here are some disturbing facts and pics from this seller as I have been in contact with him.

1. All the pics used to present this car are the exact ones used from the Bringatrailer ad which was posted several months ago. .
2. How many 1970 Mulsanne Blue Camaro Z/28’s have stripes painted on the roof as well as having the rear taillight panel blacked out?
3. I then requested the current eBay seller (called preacherhank2) forward me supporting documents to prove to me that this Camaro is an actual Z/28. The documents that were forwarded were very similar to the ones used from the ad on the Bringatrailer ad.
4. I then decided just for fun to compare the documents between both cars and this is where it gets really scary.
5. It just so happens that both cars VIN numbers are just one digit off. Are you interested yet……?
6. This 1970 Camaro Z/28 VIN currently on eBay is 124870N513855.
7. The 1970 Camaro Z/28 VIN on Bringatrailer is 124870N513856.
8. The pic of the trim tag that was supplied to me from the current seller on eBay is VERY similar to the one that was supplied on the Bringatrailer ad. What was now so unique was that the body sequence number for the eBay Camaro is the same body sequence number that was posted on the Bringatrailer ad. In other words, did GM use the same sequence number twice while building two identical Camaros in 1970? Are you interested yet……?
9. As a result of using all this duplicate info. the original selling GM dealer (Ernie Grissom Chevrolet in Michigan) in 1970 must have just happened to get two identical 1970 Camaro Z/28, just one VIN apart. Possible…..yes, but just keep reading
10. To confirm my suspicions, take note of all the supporting documents, especially the two pics of the in-dash VIN number. Notice the chunk of dirt in the blue paint just to the right of both VIN numbers in the dashs. Is it not odd that this dirt would be duplicated to a “T” on both cars?
11. In both ads, each Camaro has had new front end sheet metal, both have a .030 bore block, both now have a hydraulic cam, both have had reverse lights installed below the rear bumper and since removed, both have had a Stewart and Warner oil pressure gauge installed in the dash..…..are you getting the drift here……?

I will post some pics very soon from the old Bringatrailer ad and the second set is from the current eBay seller.

What are the chances of two possible sellers both selling the exact same car (only 1 VIN apart?????), using in the exact same location to shoot pics of their cars considering one lived in California and the other one appears to live in Gig Harbour in Washington? It still baffles me (lol) how both sellers managed to take pics from the same picture angle for all shots of the cars? Ya right……

Here is the $1,000,000 dollar question. If someone was to win the bid and enter into a deal through eBay to buy this car and make payment through eBay, what happens if the trucking company shows up to pick up the car and the pickup point turns out to be farm land, where does it go from there? How does a buyer get his funds back through eBay? I know it sounds straight forward with eBay but will it be? I somehow see the funds being tied up for a LONG time.

This car scares the hell out of me and it should with you as well…..unless I missed something…..lol.

Scary stuff as to how creative car scammers are.

Please post pictures of both VINs and trim tags since it sounds like you have pictures of both.

You know I would like to say a fool and his money..., but this is getting so extreme anymore its hard to lay the blame on the bidder-buyer.
i wonder why they even changed the VIN? So that bidders couldn't search the car as easily and see the similarities?
Next they will Photoshop the car color different, add different backgrounds to the photos, maybe even scratches, dirt etc to through folks off.
