There was some discussion about these pictures a few months ago on here, but nothing definitive.

There is an orange Chevelle in the Cleveland area that sold last year. I saw the car a few years ago, likely the same car. Its been in northern ohio its whole life.

----This is taxing my brain cells, but I seem to remember that you could tell what county a car came from in Ohio from the plate #. Obviously, personalized plates wouldn't follow this pattern. Maybe some of the Ohio tribe can address this? Knowing the county the car was in in 1969 would get a guy much closer to the whereabouts of it!.......Bill S

Yes Bill is correct ...each county is represented at the bottom of each plate on the rear only . Ohio requires front and rear plates. Also each county has a number affixed to it 1-88.... This also determines which county the car resides in ...this decal goes on both plates. Commercial plates do not have county names. Hope that helps.

Ohio plates from the 60' could possibly be linked to a specific area or seller by the first and last letters on the plate. In Marietta Ohio all plates were sold at the AAA. I called these plates XA plates, first letter X, last letter A with numbers in between. A little community 16 miles north east of there sold plates out of a produce market, these were XC plates. The next litte town up the road sold XD plates. What I'm getting at is the FC on the 69's plate should be more localized than county wide.

Been looking for 8 years for that Chevelle, The guy moved after buying parts from him, later realizing what the car might be.

I'll bet that's the same car I looked at about 15 years ago. I met up with a guy to purchase a 4346 carb, and ended up spending the better part of the day with him. He had 2-3 L78 Novas, a 67 or 68 Motion, and this Chevelle. Story was he found the engine at an engine shop, took down the VIN, and from that, tracked down the owner. It had a small block in it, and the guy's daughter, drove it back and forth to college. Something broke, and the guy could not find a replacement part, so it sat. He bought the car, and then went back and bought the motor.

As I recall, the car had a dent in the rear of the hood, where someone sat on it.
