no gaskets, I have used the copper before and high temp red as well. Gaskets were in trucks.

If you're a 100% certain the head and manifold surfaces are flat, no gasket will be required. If there is a question if this is true, then what Al said is what you need to do ... use the sealer.

If you have manifolds that are not warped I just use the white paste. Any parts store 3 dollars and a pinch does the trick for each side.

I've always used Ultra Copper on my aluminum headed
drag race engines with no problems or leaks that could be seen. Although the headers are not cast iron nor the heads it certainly is a much easier assembly. Dicky [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif[/img]
