When it came into the CRG db October 2000, it had no drivetrain. Now it has a numbers-matching drive train.

To me the block stamp looks original although a little early in my opinion. My 10C Z-28 has a V1015DZ Stamp. The tranny looks to be a re-stamp though.

The block stamp does not compare to others in the same date range.
I have 8 other L507xxx Z/28s in my db and their engine dates are much later. |

William's notes should be enough concern, but aren't the LA pads also supposed to have the VIN stamped on them?
Lets see the rest of the car?

That was inconsistent at LOS, I have seen them vary back and forth between the two locations through early and mid LOS production. As an example, I have 9L528xxx on the pad and a buddy has 9L502xxx down by the oil filter - the opposite to what you'd expect from NOR in similar timeframes.
