Re: Silver 69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan L78

I worked for a gentleman who had a large collection of cars. I have been left with the task of selling some of them. One of the cars is a 1969 Chevelle 2dr post. A long time ago I asked my boss if he had the original engine and he said yes. Right now the first thing I am doing is to verify if it is truly an SS car. I have gone through his collection of BBC engines (6 of them) and cannot find one with the partial vin on it. When my boss would paint a car he removed the cowl data plate but had a bad habit of not putting them back on. I found one stack of data plates but the Chevelle one wasn't there. What can I check to verify that this is or is not an SS car? It has the 12 bolt rear end with the back half of the lower control arms boxed in. It also has a single fuel line. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or input.
</div></div> You found the right place:-) Rick and Dan on here will get you freed of that Chevelle in no time:-) Ryan

Re: Silver 69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan L78
Added the Berger emblem I found for the car, although it still needs to be rechromed.
At least it is rechromeable, unlike another one I got from someone. |

Re: Silver 69 Chevelle SS396 Post Sedan L78
There is a place in Chicago that can restore those pot metal emblems Rick. I met him at the MCACN show a few years ago. They did a Sport Chevrolet emblem for me that was in very bad shape and it looked great upon completion. Not cheap but they made it look good.

Finally got a chance to do some work on this car again.
Replaced the rotted out headers, and will need to get a couple mufflers to replace the mismatched ones on the car. Also started putting the new (correct 300 Deluxe) interior in. The seats I had in it were musty smelling, so it's nice to get those out. Old headers |
