I grew up not far from this dealership. In 1977, they had a 1971 ZR1 Corvette for sale that they special ordered new. It had come in on a trade for another vehicle. It was ordered with some options that were not available on a ZR1 like a radio. It also had a vinyl hard top and leather interior. Wonder where that car is now?

Bill, I remember it being Steel Cities Gray or Nevada Silver. Can't remember exactly which one.
It was a roadster with a black vinyl top as I remember and had a letter authenticating it from GM due to the non race options that came on the car. Rick Mancuso had someone from GM prepare this letter stating that the car was special ordered with ZR1 and some luxury options including radio and power windows. The car was for sale for $15,000 and I thought it was a ZL1 at first. They let me know that it was a ZR1/LT1 not the ZL1/427. It was a pretty car, I sat in it and had a '69 to trade, but it would have still cost me $10,000 and I was a poor college boy home for a friends wedding that summer.
