Default 1969 Buick GS400 Stage 1 original owner on BaT

This one hits all my buttons for solid long term ownership, had a life but not a bad one, etc. Engine replaced w/455 but great docs. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-buick-gs-16/

Car was sold new at a town right up here by me. Surprised at the condition. Must have never seen a winter here

Post 1969 Buick GS400 Stage 1...

The Buick cars were under-rated by the factory on purpose...here is a cool article from Hemmings.

I have always liked the Buicks, probably because my grandfather had a number of them. He would make sure they all had the biggest engine available.

Very under rated cars. The Stage 1 option was available in the spring of 1969. Many people never knew the Stage 1 was available in 1969 and only thought it started in 1970. I believe only 1275 coupes and 212 convertibles were made in 1969 with the Stage 1 option. I bought mine from a GM executive that lived in Gross Point Woods Michigan back in 1972 with a blown 400 Stage 1 and I also installed a 1970 455 Stage 1 in it's place. It had every option available in 1969. What a Torque Monster! Bill
