Great job to you and Danny! He built a cool looking car that ran great. Earning a trophy in a field of 90 is tough to do. Those wood tracks are a unique experience. Makes me even more nostalgic.

I have really enjoyed this thread. Brings back a ton of memories. Congrats to all for this years success!
I found one of my old cars in my mom's attic this past week.
I'm not sure if I read any rules or even worried about that stuff. Just wanted to build something cool.
If I remember correctly I modeled it after a Hotwheels tow truck I have.
It wasn't fast, but I did what I could for my age. Still brought home a trophy.
My dad had to try and lighten it up. Drilling some holes in the bottom and the drill kinda got away from him and put one hole all the way through. Just before race time didn't give us anytime to fix.

Awesome tow truck, love the design!

Danny and I are watching the video I took of his races, since he's a little under the weather - his Victory Pizza came back up last night right after I posted those picture, He wants to build something cool next year, so I'll show him your Tow Truck!

Thank you for the compliments.

Tell Danny I hope he feels better. I think this years car is very cool!

By the time next year comes around I will try and dig out the other cars. It will give you some more design ideas.

Danny's back to full strength - kids bounce back quick! He loves idea of using model car decals...

BTW, we weighed in at 5.0oz, but on my 3 digit scale we were at 5.04oz - had .1oz of tungsten putty installed just in case we needed to shed a little weight! Several of the top cars had precision work done to them, and were quite impressive.
