Default Almost 40 years later its back

I bought this car in 1977 with 5000 miles. We originally just raced it then we turned it into street strip when my wife got pregnant. It made it to the street machine nationals in Indy about 4 times. I sold it in about 1986 to buy a 1969 Yenko, the Chevelle had about 10,000 miles on it.
I tracked it down about 8 years ago. I was surprised to hear it still was original paint and had about 15,000 miles on it but it was turned back into just a street car. The ladder bars, roll bars, big engine, lump grump hood was gone. The interior was put back to stock but it survived. I told the guy if he ever wanted to sell it let me know. I called him a couple years later and he had sold it but he told me who he sold it to. I called him and told him I wanted it when he was ready to sell it. I was very disappointed to hear he had red stripes put on over the original paint.
A few years go buy and he called me about a month ago he wanted a new Camaro and was ready to sell the car of course I buy it. I now have to decide put it back to street strip or just leave it and enjoy it the way it is. We always look for the past but it isnt always the way you remember it

That’s awesome! Got the LS-6 out today for a cruise. Bought it back last year after being apart for 22 years. Feels sooo good!!!
