There's Already a C8 Corvette for Rent on Turo

Quote:
The specific C8 in question is painted Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic with the 3LT equipment package and, more importantly, the Z51 performance package. That means it'll do 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and absolutely rip around a race track, though obviously we'd never advocate for anyone to abuse another person's car. Besides a set of Vossen Wheels and a ceramic paint coat, the C8 is unmodified. The interior is white and black, with the GT2 seats. Based on Chevy's configurator, a C8 with this equipment costs over $78,000.

To filter out any hooligans, the car is only available if you are over 25. For drivers under 30, supplementary insurance and a $750 refundable security deposit is required. You can knock $250 off that deposit if you give them your personal insurance information. If none of that is a dealbreaker, the car is available starting March 23 and is located in Miramar, Florida. Rates change depending on the day, but it's easy to find availability for $299 per day.

Who, in their right mind, does this Turo stuff with their new car...or any high dollar car for that matter?

Am I showing my "oldman-fulness" again?

I guess anything can be made into a business these days. I know this is from the Turo site, but still thought it was interesting:

We've had very few people order a base model. Like 2 out of the 14 orders we have are 1LT cars and one of those ordered Z51 so his car is $67k. The first 2 we got it in both had MSRPs of around $85k and that's what we sold them for. No dealer markup.

Not on all of them. Apparently on some of the early vins though. Neither of ours had this issue.

Interesting that the Red Corvette has a matching body colored rear spoiler, while the Gray car gets black.

Black spoiler and mirrors is a $100 option.
