This is another well known Bloomington Benchmark red/red 435 coupe. I've known this car since 1983 when I saw it at the Chevy Vettefest at McCormack place in Chicago. A great car.

There have been lots of rumors and claims over the years on cars never documented or that never materialized. Back in January 2010 a coupe appeared on eBay that was red/red leather no-radio, J56, bolt-ons, redlines, PS, PB, PW, full tint, 75326 miles, in Virginia, 00711. The gentleman selling the car was honest and forthright in his ad and on the phone, freely stating there was no paperwork, he had owned it since 1982, was certain the block had been decked and restamped before his ownership and thus he was selling it as having a replacement block. It sold for a reported $87,650. Another mouth-watering car but no way of knowing what it really is. |

red/red 67 L71 coupes
Dannyboy, sorry for the lengthy delay, don't check in very often. Former owner Gary Seymour knew midyears well, but I personally don't know enough about the car. Keep in mind the www.holygrailcorvettes.com car is "The only red on red 435 coupe with factory side exhaust known to exist", besides having one of the most complete tank sheets we have ever seen, full history back to 2nd owner, been with some of the most serious and respected collectors, etc. Tim is right, the General had to have built a bunch of red/red L71 coupes, but we also know how high the attrition rate was on these puppies, and there just plain ain't many left.
