I wonder if that person down in TX ever sold that silver w/BVT one. Had it on eBay many many times with horrible pictures and minimal details. Black stripes and Z28 emblems had been added but it was well documented and a solid car. Not easy to find a real one.

Charlie, who goes by Hubleyman on this site and Nasty Z, just finished his car and it looks amazing. I doubt if it is for sale but you never know. Here is a link to his recent post on Nasty Z.

Thanks azcamaros... My friend managed to talk Hubleyman(Charley) out of his 73 and is very happy as it is exactly what he wanted and close so he already saw it, bought it, picked it up......

I’m glad it worked out for both parties. It looks like a great car.

Congrats to your friend.
I'm thinking Charley's wording of his friend "managed to talk him out of it" has a lot to do with Hubleyman willing to sell it...

Guess I can chime in about selling my car now…

It wasn’t my intention to sell my 73Z after all these years (not to mention the time and effort for the restoration) and it really was a very difficult choice, but I truly believe it went to the right person in the end.

The new caretaker had virtually the same car back in the 70’s. He shared some vintage pics of him with his original 73Z with me and it was like a Deja-vu feeling. I think he might even duplicate those photos with the replacement Z for nostalgic purposes? My car has always lived within a 2 hour drive of where it was sold new and it ended up staying local, which meant something to me as well (not sure why – just sentimental fodder).

It was a combination of the integrity of the buyer, along with all the historical factors and future intentions falling into place (and perhaps a little “grease” in my palms) that finally persuaded me to let it go. I am convinced that it was meant to be.

At least I got to participate in one fun car show and receive a special award with it after 15 years of resto efforts !

Isn't that the way it goes ?? I've had cars for that long and never got them done and sold them too. Good intentions, but too many projects...

What is the next project ?
