Default The paper filters

Although the old Original first design foam filters are cool, they are a mess to maintain.

The foams were replaced soon after with the user friendly paper with wire mesh sandwiched by a durable rubber base.
There was no need for the round brass screen supports any longer.

The second design filter A220C had a ‘soldered’ mesh for support and is extremely hard to find. I have a boxed set of NOS 1967 filters.

Next up is the third and final design filter that uses a fine clean mesh with no solder. This filter is readily found today.

Nice forum, but those guys really don’t appreciate items like OEM air cleaners.
They tend to be more interested in non Original things such as LED lights in their dash board.

Not worth the time.

Thanks for that suggestion anyway.

----Chris,,,Your post here is almost a revelation to me as I guess I thought all tri-power equipped GTO's came with the foam AC's. It's eye opening to see all the changes made over the years. It seems like the GTO parts guys just sell foam ones and nothing else. Probably because they are easily reproduced! Thanks!....Bill S
